Overview

Sex remains one of the most essential yet under-addressed topics in clinical practice. This training series equips practitioners with the tools to navigate sexual health and intimacy conversations through a sex-positive, trauma-informed lens. Learn to reduce personal shame, increase comfort discussing sexuality, and facilitate open dialogue with clients around arousal, desire, consent, and relational health.

Course Structure

This comprehensive series includes three modules:

Part 1 – Arousal and Desire
Explore the biological and neurological foundations of sexual response, the distinction between arousal and desire, and the Dual Control Model for clinical application.

Part 2 – Orgasms and Masturbation
Learn evidence-based approaches to discussing orgasm, self-pleasure, and addressing shame in clinical practice.

Part 3 – Sexual Health History and Meaning-Making
Develop skills for taking trauma-informed sexual health histories and supporting clients in integrating their sexual narratives.

Course Details

Each module includes:

  • Curriculum video (approximately 3 hours)

  • Comprehension assessment

  • Automatic CEU certificate upon successful completion

Total training time for the full course is approximately 9 hours.
